Eventually, however, Lady Jennifer and her game-playing suitor decided to go their separate ways. She was sad, because she enjoyed the friendship of her suitor, and she really enjoyed playing the Dungeons & Dragons games. She also knew she would miss her new friends... especially the kind Lord Joshua.
Two weeks later, to her surprise, she got a message from Lord Joshua. He expressed his condolences about the breakup, and he wondered if they could continue their friendship, even though she wouldn't be coming to the games anymore. Lady Jennifer agreed immediately (she had missed her dear friend), and they shared a joint of mutton and a flagon of ale at yon Ruby Tuesday, followed by a lively game of Lute Hero. The two friends enjoyed themselves so much that they decided to spend time together on a more regular basis. Lady Jennifer was pleased to have such a good friend, but she did not realize that Lord Joshua also wanted to court her.
One Friday evening, Lord Joshua visited Lady Jennifer's castle for another game of Lute Hero and some lasagna. On that night, to her shock, he told her of his attraction, and asked if perhaps he could court her to become his own Lady. When she recovered from her surprise, she agreed (for she really did enjoy his company), and the two friends took their first steps together down the path of courtly love.
It wasn't long before the Lord and Lady fell passionately in love with each other. They were not only lovers, they were the best of friends. They played hours of Lute Hero, and even started their own Dungeons & Dragons game together! And one year after they first met at Lady Jennifer's old suitor's game table, the Lord asked for his Lady's hand in marriage...
...and they lived happily ever after.
