When visiting some of the local attractions (especially the downtown ones), you can save yourself some cash and headaches by hopping on one of our buses or trains. You can pay cash (exact change) at the bus or at the light rail ticket station, or you can buy a Day Pass.

Day Pass
For just $6, enjoy an entire day of touring with the Day Pass. It's good for unlimited rides on any Metro Transit bus or train for 24 hours.Metro Transit offers fast, frequent service to both downtowns, Mall of America and hundreds of other popular attractions. No matter where you go with the Day Pass, your fare is paid!
The Day Pass is easy to use. Simply insert it in the card reader on the farebox as you board any Metro Transit bus or use it as proof of payment on a train. It's valid for 24 hours from first use. Simple!
Day Passes are available from your bus driver, online, at any Metro Transit Store and from ticket machines at rail stations.
Hiawatha Line Light Rail
The light rail starts at the Mall of America (below the East Parking Garage) and goes through Bloomington, both airport terminals, past Minnehaha Falls Park, through south Minneapolis, and into downtown Minneapolis.
You must buy a ticket or pass at the ticket machine at the station before boarding. Keep the ticket or pass on your person at all times: a transit police officer goes periodically through the light rail trains and checks everyone's ticket. If you don't have a ticket on you, you will have to pay a hefty fine.
